英國(guó)一名19歲的女生因癡迷韓國(guó)文化而苦學(xué)韓語(yǔ),但是因?yàn)樯囝^比一般人短,致使她韓語(yǔ)發(fā)音一直不能很地道,為此,她特意通過外科手術(shù)將舌頭拉長(zhǎng)。據(jù)悉,這名女生兩年前通過同學(xué)接觸韓國(guó)流行文化和電視節(jié)目后開始癡迷,苦學(xué)兩年韓語(yǔ)后已經(jīng)達(dá)到了很高的水平,但是因?yàn)樯囝^天生偏短,她一直不能很好的發(fā)出韓語(yǔ)里的L這個(gè)音。咨詢過語(yǔ)言導(dǎo)師并征得父母同意后,她進(jìn)行了舌系帶切開術(shù),舌頭長(zhǎng)度由此增加了1厘米,原來(lái)不可能發(fā)出來(lái)的音,現(xiàn)在都能發(fā)得很好。目前,她正在等待A-level考試(類似于國(guó)內(nèi)高考)成績(jī),希望能進(jìn)入謝菲爾德大學(xué)學(xué)習(xí)韓國(guó)研究與工商管理課程,因?yàn)檫@個(gè)課程有一年是要去韓國(guó)首都首爾的一所大學(xué)完成的。

But while taking language lessons, the 19-year-old found that she couldn't pronounce certain crucial sounds in the Korean alphabet.
Her dentist suggested it may be because she was born with a slightly shorter than average tongue, caused by having an unusually thick lingual frenulum - the flap of skin that joins the underside of the tongue to the floor of the mouth.
