Chinese Football Association sets salary limit
(CRI.com.cn)
Updated: 2004-03-30 11:08

The Chinese Football Association Super League Committee has issued a new regulation ruling a salary expense limit for registered clubs.

The code allows each club's entire salary payout to stay below 55% of its revenue, but doesn't limit the sum of income and bonus averagely on single players.

Clubs who violate the rules could be relegated at worst, and players who demand excessive wages would be disqualified from league matches.

Some Chinese players in the current league earn over one million yuan or US$100,000 per year.
