A couple fighting with each other in their car became distracted and the vehicle hit a tree, the Beijing News reports.

The couple's Cherokee was heading along when their tiff grew heated and suddenly the car went out of control and hit a huge tree, witnesses said.

The two were covered with blood when they got out.

The woman told police the man hit her on the head, making her feel faint before the crash.

No pedestrian was hurt.

The case is being investigated.
