Leaders of Japan's six parties hold hands at the start of a televised election debate at Japan National Press Club in Tokyo August 29, 2005. Japanese six party leaders squared off in the debate on Monday, one day before the official start of a dramatic campaign for a general election that Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi says is a referendum on reform. The leaders are: (L-R) People's New Party's Tamisuke Watanuki, New Komeito Party's Takenori Kanzaki, Prime Minister and the ruling Liberal Democratic Party's Junichiro Koizumi, main opposition Democratic Party of Japan's Katsuya Okada, Communist Party of Japan's Kazuo Shii and Social Democratic Party's Mizuho Fukushima.
