有一次，我們幾個(gè)同事在一起聊天，Joe 講了一個(gè)帶點(diǎn)黃色的笑話，其他人都大笑起來(lái)，只有我沒(méi)聽(tīng)懂，只好說(shuō)：“I don't get it.”誰(shuí)知他們聽(tīng)后爆發(fā)出更大的笑聲。Dalar 就說(shuō)了一句“Her mind is not in the gutter”.我心想我的 mind 難道不是跟你們?cè)谝黄鸬膯幔?br/>
原來(lái)“mind in the gutter”的意思是心思不良，心術(shù)不正。也就是說(shuō) Dalar 剛才是在幫我解釋，說(shuō)我之所以沒(méi)聽(tīng)懂 Joe 的笑話，是因?yàn)槲也粫?huì)像他們一樣想得那么歪。
因此如果想說(shuō)某人心思不正，就可以說(shuō)那人的“mind in the gutter”，讓他別那樣了就可以說(shuō)“Get your mind out of the gutter.”雖然我笑話沒(méi)聽(tīng)懂，但是學(xué)會(huì)了一個(gè)成語(yǔ)，也算是有所收獲。
