Hotline現(xiàn)在已成為最常用的名詞之一。這個(gè)詞來(lái)源于二戰(zhàn)以后。當(dāng)時(shí)，世界政壇上非常流行hotline，它是用來(lái)指兩國(guó)領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人之間的專用電話線（direct and exclusive communication link between heads of government），可以24小時(shí)通話，而且更為重要的是它可以排除竊聽的可能性。后來(lái)它延伸為兩國(guó)領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人在沒有外人參與的情況下的直接通話。如今，這個(gè)詞已經(jīng)被廣泛采用，報(bào)社、電臺(tái)更是不能少了hot line。可以說(shuō)Hot line service has become an integral part of our life.（熱線服務(wù)已經(jīng)成為我們生活中不可缺少的一部分。）
