Xiang Huaizhu, former deputy director of the economic crime investigation bureau of the Ministry of Public Security, was sentenced Friday to 12 years in jail plus a fine of RMB1m in a Beijing court. The former senior police chief was found guilty for taking graft worth more than RMB2m and of the amount over RMB1m in bribes from convicted Huang Guangyu, once China's richest man. Xiang's case also repeats other corrupt officials' experiences for wives' involvement. His wife Li Shanjuan was sentenced to 1 year and 7 months in prison for working in collusion to take more than RMB170,000 in bribes.

23日，公安部經(jīng)偵局原副局長相懷珠受賄案在北京宣判。法院以受賄罪(受賄額折合人民幣200余萬元)判處相懷珠有期徒刑12年，沒收個人財產(chǎn)100萬元。該案的一大亮點是，在相懷珠受賄的贓款中，逾百萬元來自已被判刑的前首富黃光裕；此外，這是又一起"官妻"卷入受賄的經(jīng)典案例，其妻李善娟因伙同受賄17萬余元，被判1年零7個月。
