Research Report [No.5 (Total4888), 2016] 2016-1-25

Abstract: It is revealed through the “Questionnaire Survey on China’s Business Operators 2015” that against the backdrop of the slowdown of economic growth, business operators had made a number of achievements through innovation projects. Enterprise energy consumption decreased to some extent, the sales share of new products continued to increase, the performance of technology-intensive enterprises was quite sound. High-tech enterprises and the service industries represented by information transmission, software, information technology services, leasing and commerce services as well as medicine, electronic equipment, and instruments manufacturing services all showed clearly better performance above the average level of relevant industries in terms of such indicators as ordering, profiting, employment, and amount of future investment. These industries also enjoyed significantly better performance than the mining industry, real estate industry, and resource-intensive industries of paper making, chemical fiber, non-metallic product, iron and steel, non-ferrous metal, and general-purpose equipment. Most operators have become aware of the importance and urgency of innovation and will make every endeavour in future innovation. With more investment made in innovation, the operators hope to launch more independent innovation projects and most of them have the desire to improve the automation level. As a result, there will be a growing demand for the employment of university and college graduates.
