The city of Nanyang in Henan province wanted to do something special for young people to celebrate China's Youth Day, on May 4, so the Youth League organized a viewing of Left Ear, a popular recent movie on youth and love, for 200 of its members.

The film was shown at Nanyang Cinema, and the Youth League included it as one of its activity centers for the younger generation where they could plan more cultural events in the future, as an extracurricular activity outside of school. The cinema is expected to play an important role in arts and culture for the group of young people and the league says it hopes to address their changing demands and encourage more public facilities in the city to be free for young people.

The cinema and the league worked together to provide 20,000 movie cards for youth members in the city which give them a 55-percent discount on any ticket to the cinema. Members can apply for the cards at league offices in each district.
