Development goals for Qingdao's Standardization Plus strategy

The Qingdao "Standardization+" Development Plan (2016-2020), recently released by the Qingdao bureau of quality and technical supervision, provides a detailed route map for the city's standardization construction during the 13th Five Year Plan (2016-2020) period.

Qingdao's goals for standardization construction (2016-2020)

1. Undertake the functions of the secretariats of five international and national special standardization technical organizations

2. Lead or participate in the preparation and revision of more than 20 international standards

3. Regularly host international standardization conferences and forums and undertake 50 new tasks of pilot and demonstration projects on standardization construction at a national or provincial level

4. Organize and establish 10 standardization groups (leagues)

5. Take charge of or participate in the formulation and revision of more than 200 national and industrial standards

6. Develop and revise more than 500 local standards/codes

7. Set up 20 municipal-level special standardization technical committees

8. Cultivate more than 100 enterprises with good standardization construction;

9. Realize 1.2 million of Qingdao’s library collection standards

10. Develop a great number of standardized scientific and technological service institutions with high-level expertise and strong market competitiveness

Qingdao will implement important overall strategies to promote industrial development, raise living standards and strengthen public security, as well as foster a batch of high-profile "Qingdao Standards", including "Standardization Plus", "Internet Plus", "Marine Plus", "Internationalization Plus" and "Three Centers and One Base" (a key innovation center on the east coast, a crucial regional service center, an internationally-advanced center for ocean development and an advanced manufacturing base).
