Shanghai Simgui Technology Co Ltd, a high-tech enterprise dedicated to the research and development and production of high-end silicon-based materials, was established in 2001 and was restructured to become a joint-stock company in June 2009. The company was spun off from Shanghai Institute of Mircrosystem and Information Technology, a subsidiary of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and was led by a consortium of investors from home and abroad.
Since its inception, the company has received strong support from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology, CAS, and relevant government departments of Shanghai.
Simgui is currently the largest Silicon-On-Insulator (SOI) material production base in China and is one of the world's leading providers of SOI materials. It has registered capital of 210 million yuan ($30.5 million) and boasts a high-quality management and technical team.
At present, more than 90% of Simgui's products are sold to the United States, Japan, Europe, Russia, Korea, Taiwan and Singapore, and the company itself has become a reliable supplier for internationally renowned companies such as NXP, TOSHIBA, Global Foundries, Vanguard, Hitachi, CSMC, and Mellanox.
