Tai'an, East China's Shandong province saw its GDP increase by 1.8 percent to 200.52 billion yuan ($30.36 billion) in the first three quarters of this year.

Officials said that from January to September this year, the emerging industries in the city maintain steady growth, offering a strong driving force to the city's economic recovery.

The added value of the city's modern service sector hit 51.21 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 6.1 percent and accounting for 25.5 percent of the city's GDP.

The added value of water conservancy, environment and public facility management increased by 17.8 percent, 16.5 percent higher than that of the first half of the year.

Meanwhile, other major economic indicators also showed the district's stable progress over the period.

The added value of the primary, secondary, tertiary industry was 26.12 billion yuan, 73.05 billion yuan, 100.91 billion yuan respectively, up 1.3 percent, 1.1 percent and 2.4 percent year-on-year, respectively.

Such achievements partially result from the timely and effective policy packages and anti-epidemic measures rolled out by the local government, including cutting taxes, easing financing channels and handing out work resumption subsidies.
