I lived in Guangzhou when the air pollution there was as bad as it is now reported for Beijing - everything looked brown-gray after 100m, and invisible in the distance. My doctor recommended leaving China. Eventually after 7 years in Guangdong I made it back to Hong Kong. But then the typhoons blew all the bad air from China to Hong Kong. I live in England now. The air is much better here, food and rent are affordable again, but that's about it. Miss the Chinese food and my friends, and a lot of other things.
