XIANGNING: The death toll in the flooded Wangjialing coal mine in north China's Shanxi Province rose to 33 after one more body was recovered Sunday noon.

Rescuers are searching for the five miners who remained missing, the rescue headquarters said.

The 115 miners lifted out of the mine alive on Monday after being trapped underground for more than a week were all "out of life-threatening danger" and in stable conditions, said Gao Guoshun, director of Shanxi's Health Bureau.

"The number of seriously injured workers has dropped from 69 to 12. And the three critically injured ones are no longer in danger, " Gao said.

The rescued miners are receiving medical treatment in five hospitals in Hejin and Taiyuan cities.
