May 18 is International Museum Day, and Capital Museum held two exhibits. One was “The exhibition of donations of heritages.” The other one was the “Museum in my eyes” photography contest. Also an art group was set up on this day.The exhibit showed heritages that were collected by Capital Museum in the past 10 years. Many items have some historical significance.

The “Museum in my eye” photography contest has been held for many years, where many photographers told their stories of what museums mean to them through their pictures. The museum’s art group would take part in big events in the future. They would bring music, dance and more art form to make the static exhibits more lively.

International Museum Day was established by the International Council of Museums. Its aim is to let more people get to know museums. The theme for this year’s International Museum Day is “Museums for social harmony.” Many other museums in Beijing also held events to celebrate the day.
