China supervises Philippine resupply mission to grounded warship

China Coast Guard said it had allowed and supervised a Philippine resupply mission on Wednesday to a warship illegally grounded at Ren'ai Reef in the South China Sea.
On Wednesday, Liu Dejun, spokesman for the China Coast Guard, noted that, with permission from the Chinese side, the Philippines dispatched a civilian vessel to deliver supplies to the grounded boat.
Liu said the CCG conducted inquiries, verification and full supervision of the Philippine vessel throughout the operation.
China urged the Philippines to honor its commitments, work with China and jointly manage the maritime situation, he said.
He added that the China Coast Guard will continue to conduct lawful rights-protection and enforcement activities in the Nansha Islands, including Ren'ai Reef and nearby waters.
