Guangzhou cross-border e-commerce fair to expand China's high-level opening-up

The upcoming China (Guangzhou) Cross-Border E-Commerce Fair will play a role in expanding China's high-level opening-up and deepening the country's cooperation with Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership member countries and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
The fair to be held in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, from Aug 15 to 17 is also expected to further optimize the cooperation platform for emerging markets and accelerate the construction of a global ecosystem, said Zhou Shanqing, deputy director of the China Foreign Trade Center.
Zhou said a record number of exhibition platforms will participate in the event, which is aimed at further expanding China's foreign trade industry.
More than 1,000 high-quality supply chain enterprises, over 40 domestic and overseas cross-border e-commerce platforms, and about 200 ecological chain service providers will participate in the fair, seeking further expansion of cross-border e-commerce business in more than 1,800 exhibition booths during the event, Zhou said.
According to Zhou, the Amazon SPN ecosystem service area alone has reached 470 square meters in this year's fair, a significant year-on-year increase.
Temu's booth will cover an area of over 500 square meters, while Shein's booth area will reach more than 180 square meters, doubling the figure recorded in the previous events.
Meanwhile, the seven major platforms of Alibaba Group will come to a total exhibition floor space of more than 300 square meters, said Zhou.
"The central government has paid great attention to and introduced a series of preferential policies to support development of cross-border e-commerce and support the regions with conditions to host cross-border e-commerce trade fairs this year," Zhou said at a news conference in Guangzhou on Friday.
