A delegation of Vietnamese journalists has begun an eight-day visit to China as part of a media exchange program aimed at deepening cooperation between the two countries.

A departure ceremony was held on Monday in Nanning, the capital of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, to mark the start of the tour. Guangxi Daily, the Sichuan Daily Press Group, Guizhou Radio and Television, and Vietnam's Voice of Vietnam jointly organized the event.

The initiative seeks to strengthen practical collaboration between Guangxi and Vietnam, particularly in the media sector, and follows on from the "Dialogue with the New Era" China-Vietnam youth media forum held earlier this year in Hanoi and Nanning.

During the tour, 14 journalists from nine major Vietnamese media outlets are taking part in the visit, which includes stops in Guangxi, Guizhou, and Sichuan.

Vietnamese representatives said they were particularly interested in China's technological development. They expressed hope to gain insights into how China has widely applied artificial intelligence in transportation, public services, manufacturing, media, and journalism, among other sectors.

They will explore achievements in high-level opening-up in western China, witness practices of Chinese modernization, and seek more opportunities for mutually beneficial China-Vietnam cooperation.
