Around 10 people killed and 33 missing after flash floods in Gansu


At least 10 people have died and 33 remain missing after heavy rainfall triggered flash floods in Yuzhong county, Lanzhou, in Gansu province, as of Friday afternoon, CCTV reported.
Since Thursday, continuous heavy rain has caused severe flooding and landslides in the region. As of 3:30 pm on Friday, rescue efforts were ongoing to locate those still missing.
More than 2,700 personnel from emergency management, police, transportation, fire services, power, telecommunications, and medical teams have been deployed. Nearly 1,000 vehicles and over 8,500 sets of emergency supplies are being used in coordinated search and rescue operations, infrastructure repairs, and mass evacuations, according to local authorities.
Mass evacuations are currently underway in a coordinated manner.
