New book illuminates contemporary Chinese wisdom

The Spiritual Pursuit of Chinese Civilization, a newly launched book organized by the National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences and published by CITIC Press Group, was officially released at the 33rd National Book Expo in July. The book is available online and in hard copy.
By combining the insights of leading Chinese scholars in the humanities and social sciences fields, the book aims to explore the enduring vitality of traditional Chinese culture. Structured around three major dimensions — natural law, governance, and personal cultivation — it distills 12 core spiritual keywords to offer a comprehensive yet accessible framework for understanding the intellectual and cultural foundations of Chinese civilization.
With 300 pages of text and enhanced by over 100 images, the book takes readers on a journey through Chinese cosmology, political philosophy, and moral cultivation that guides modern audiences to rediscover their cultural roots, pass on their spiritual traditions, and envision the future.

Hu Yabin, the director of publicity of the National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences, remarks: "This book blends profound philosophical thought with contemporary relevance, illuminating how Chinese wisdom continues to speak to the world today. It serves as a meaningful dialogue between past and present."

Chen Wei, chairman of CITIC Press Group, adds: "This is not only a key to decoding the essence of Chinese civilization but also a spiritual mirror reflecting the Chinese path. Through its vivid combination of words and images, the book brings to life a worldview rooted in harmony between heaven and earth, unity of family and nation, and the cultivation of moral integrity."
