Chen Yu's new womenswear line inspired by grasslands and sustainability

Chen Yu has teamed up with Zaker, a company specializing in sustainable leather alternative products, to promote its Chnnyu womenswear brand for its 2026 Spring-Summer collection.
The partnership was launched in Beijing on Sept 14 as part of the 2025 China Fashion Week autumn edition.
The collection, featuring a medley of stylish, practical biker and bomber jackets and trench coats, is part of a wider collaboration between Chen, recipient of the prestigious Jinding fashion design award and Japanese designer Koji Udo.
Themed "Husile", a word meaning "hope" in Mongolian, Chnnyu's new collection is also part of another collaboration with Taiga, an electronic music duo from Inner Mongolia and the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region. Husile is also the name of one of the band members.
According to Chnnyu, it has adopted Zaker's vegan leather for all the pieces in the new collection to convey its concern for environmental protection.
Zaker states that all its leather is crafted using sustainable plant-based carbon materials, natural polymers and non-food agricultural waste. The leather is also odorless and DMF-free, making it breathable and skin-friendly, machine washable and traceable.
