Lu Wenjun, former deputy general manager of China First Heavy Industries, has been expelled from the Communist Party of China and dismissed from public office after an investigation found he had committed serious disciplinary and legal violations, according to the country's top anti-corruption authorities.

The CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission announced the decision online on Monday.

Lu was placed under investigation earlier this year. The inquiry found that he had severely violated the Party's political, organizational, and integrity disciplines, committed serious duty-related offenses, and was suspected of bribery.

Investigators said Lu accepted banquets that could have compromised the fair performance of his official duties and failed to truthfully report personal matters. He also sought benefits for others in the selection and appointment of officials.

In addition, Lu was found to have illegally accepted gifts and money, engaged in power-for-money transactions, and used his position to seek benefits for others in areas such as business contracting, commission payments, and job adjustments — illegally receiving large sums of property in return.

The commissions said Lu failed to curb his misconduct even after the 18th CPC National Congress, noting that his actions were serious in nature and had an adverse social impact, warranting severe punishment.

According to the announcement, Lu has been expelled from the Party and dismissed from public office. His illicit gains from disciplinary and legal violations will be confiscated, and his suspected criminal offenses, along with related assets, will be handed over to the procuratorial authorities for review and prosecution.

Founded in 1954, China First Heavy Industries is a major state-owned enterprise in the heavy machinery sector and plays a key role in national security and economic development.
