A post titled "Rent a boyfriend on Valentine's Day for 5,000 yuan ($794)" has caused heated discussion online, with some netizens applying for the job, Feb 9, 2012, Dalian Peninsula Morning post reported.
"I have to spend Valentine's Day alone without a partner before, but I want to rent a good guy for company this year", a netizen nicknamed "babe" said.
The daily fees for renting lovers range from hundreds of yuan to 5,000 yuan.
Special online stores have also popped up for single women to find a man to pretend to be her boyfriend. Detailed contracts are provided by the stores but they are considered invalid according to lawyers.
