Three teams, including two from universities, won the first prize in an artificial intelligence-themed cybersecurity competition in Beijing on Friday.

The contest, organized by cyberspace administrations and education departments from Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei province and Inner Mongolia autonomous region, was a key event during the China Cybersecurity Week, which began nationwide on Monday.

This year's competition focused deeply on AI security, testing participants' practical skills in areas such as large model data security, information system security, adversarial sample attacks, deepfake detection and content security, according to the capital's cyberspace administration.

It emphasized that the competition aimed to promote the innovative and secure application of AI in sectors like government, industry, education and healthcare, thereby fostering a sound environment for the integrated development of the technology and these fields.

The competition attracted more than 2,000 security teams across the country, with 100 advancing to the finals held in Beijing on Friday. In the end, teams from the Inner Mongolia University of Technology, the Zhengzhou University of Light Industry and the State Grid Jibei Electric Power Company's research institute secured the first prize.

In addition to the contest, a cybersecurity talent recruitment event was held in Beijing on Tuesday. A total of 118 State-owned, private and small and micro enterprises, spanning various fields such as security, internet, manufacturing, and technology services, participated in the event by offering 5,161 cybersecurity-related positions in research, testing, management.

The capital's cyberspace administration also worked with local public security bodies and educational departments to provide law and cybersecurity knowledge in residential areas and schools, so as to help enhance the public's awareness of how to prevent online attacks and personal data leakage.
