High-speed and regular trains within Guangdong province will gradually be suspended from noon on Tuesday as Typhoon Ragasa approaches, according to local railway operators.

The suspensions will be dynamically adjusted according to the typhoon's impact, China Railway Guangzhou Group said on Monday.

Typhoon Ragasa, the 18th typhoon of this year, was upgraded to a super typhoon on Sunday morning, according to China's National Meteorological Center.

The typhoon will gradually approach coastal areas in Guangdong and Hainan after entering the northeastern part of the South China Sea in the early hours of Tuesday, according to local meteorological authorities.

Authorities in Guangdong raised the wind emergency response on Monday to Level II, the second-highest in China's four-tier warning system.

All high-speed and regular trains within Guangdong will be suspended on Wednesday, railway authorities said.

Train services will be gradually resumed based on the weakening impact of the typhoon, with specific train schedules being updated dynamically.

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport will decide on the operation and cancellation of flights based on weather conditions, the airport's authorities said on Monday.

Schools in Zhuhai and Jiangmen will suspend classes starting on Tuesday, with work, production, public transport, and business operations also being suspended, according to the local flood, drought, and wind control headquarters.
