The 91st International Forum on China Reform will be held in Haikou, Hainan province, from Oct 31 to Nov 1, organizers announced.

The theme of this year's forum is "China in Establishing a New System for a Higher-level Open Economy and the World".

The forum is jointly hosted by the China Institute for Reform and Development and other institutions, including the China Public Diplomacy Association.

According to the institute, the plenary sessions will focus on two key topics: how high-level opening-up can advance China's high-quality development during its 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-30) period, and the global implications of China's open-market policies.

The forum will also feature thematic dialogues and roundtable discussions on current issues. Planned topics include the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership amid global changes, the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port, governance in the era of artificial intelligence, multilateralism and global governance, and policies to support the private sector.

This forum will be the 91st held by the institute since 1991. It is the eighth in a series focusing on "China and the World" that the institute began hosting in 2018.
